OK...what seems wrong about putting on a hockey jersey in a tropical country in 33C heat? Absolutely nothing!! I recently joined a women's group in Belmopan. It's called the Belmopan International Women's Group. It's primarily a social group that does fundraising for many different community projects. It's a great way to get to meet other ladies from all over the world. Probably about half the members are born and raised Belizeans and the other half are from others places around the world. I sat at a table today with women from Belize, Germany, California and Zimbabwe. How's that for diversified? Very cool!
Today was a potluck lunch. We each bought and wore something to represent our home country. So of course....hockey and Nanaimo bars! I actually had to crack and shred fresh coconut meat for the base. They were a huge hit and the recipe will be featured in next month's news letter! Go Canada!
We've been getting lots of rain over the last week. It's been pretty nice. Keeps the days cooler except we are nervously waiting for the lawn to start growing like crazy! A couple days of heat and sun and we could be in big trouble. That's the joy of 11 acres of lawn. We have no one to blame but ourselves.
