I have some catch up writing to do. It's not that life has been so wildly busy or interesting but my blog is my diary and I try to keep up. Adam is just back from Canada. He finally made the trip back to the Great White North. This is his first trip since we've moved to Belize over two and a half years ago. I went to visit Larissa last year for a month so it was his turn. It would have been nice for both of us to go but it's hard with the house, yard and of course, the dogs. It's just not that easy to pack up and leave. I'll probably make the trip next year.
So for two weeks I was on my own. I actually do pretty well alone. I'm not someone that needs people around all the time. I had a few projects planned and managed to keep myself fairly well amused. Although, towards the end of the two weeks I was having some good talks with the dogs! And I don't really want to admit it but they were holding up their ends of the conversations fairly well! Yah...I was going a little stir crazy.

My big project was finishing the wood floors in our bedroom. When we moved into the house we did all the rest right away but we never made it down the hall and into our room. This seemed like a good opportunity. So, I had Adam help me clear out the room the day before he left and then it was all mine. Much, much cleaning, some sanding, stain and varnish and wow! It looks really nice. I'll get some pics up later. Once I'm happy with the 'whole look'. I got kind of artsy in a few places, too. That comes from too much time alone!
Right now it is mango season in Belize. I have a real love/hate thing going on with mangos. In Canada, I always said that I didn't like mangos. But I didn't realize that I just didn't like the overpriced, cardboard flavoured mangos that showed up in our grocery stores. Fresh, locally grown mangos are another story. They are delicious and they are everywhere. So, I have been eating mangos daily...mostly in smoothies and in cottage cheese...Heaven! The down side is that my tummy just doesn't like mangos. They give me such a stomach ache! I know...a smart, logical person would recognize that mangos are the culprit and then eliminate them from the diet. But I can't! They are just soooooo good. So, I will continue with my love/hate relationship...at least until the end of mango season.
