So, a couple of weeks ago I opened my small box of ornaments and it was just like Christmas! I've been working on the tree for a while. I wanted something different. Our neighbours in Corozal had something like this so I stole their idea. I got a tomato frame and covered it with vines that I collected from trees in the yard. Spray paint, decorations and red pepper lights and we've got the perfect tropical Christmas tree! I'm pretty happy with it.
No point in trying to keep everything the same as in past years. Our lives are different in so many ways...maybe it's time for some new Christmas traditions, as well.
Had to take this picture of Mom. The main form of speed control on Belizean roads are speed bumps. They are everywhere and they are pretty effective...especially if you're fond of your front axel! Everyone here calls them sleeping policemen. They lay across the road and they make you slow down. Well, this is the first time we've seen a sign that actually shows a sleeping policeman! Someone has a good sense of humour!
I've mentioned it before but a picture says so much. We eat out at restaurants at least five or six times a week. No kidding! Food is good and really cheap here. Not hard to make the decision to go out when you just don't feel like cooking! This is Adam at one of our favourite restaurants in town, Sanny's. He's enjoying a t-bone dinner for $12.50 Belize....that's about $6.50 Canadian. See my point?
