First couple of days of our visit with Sheryn and Larissa were spent fairly close to home. Still raining a bit but nothing too major. Lots of beautiful, warm sun in between showers. Larissa has re-bonded with Zoey and Zoey loves her to death! Not quite the puppy that Larissa remembers from her last visit!
We made an afternoon trip to Cahal Pech. These Mayan ruins are right in San Ignacio so that puts them about ten minutes from our door. It's not one of the biggest or most flashy sites but we always enjoy our visits there. The ruins are full of little passageways and nooks that you can explore. This picture is of us taking refuge from a quick sun shower. It was fun hiding out in someone's 1600 year old bedroom!
After touring around the ruins, we made our way to the Cahal Pech Resort and had a lovely lunch by their pool. They actually allow locals to use the pool for a small fee. We might try to fit that in for an afternoon. We'll see...time has a way of slipping here!
