Sunrise on Four Mile Lagoon
I just watched a beautiful sunrise over the lagoon. The water is very calm and all that I can hear are the birds. Very nice. I'm still looking for crocodiles but nothing yet! Lots of locals have told us that our lagoon has crocs and lots of big fish including tarpons (very big fish!). But I'm starting to wonder if that isn't just a story for the gringos! I've even heard that manatees have been spotted in here. Now, that would be cool!
We haven't done a whole lot in the last while. The days are pretty quiet. We get up around six, coffee on the deck, maybe a little house work and a trip to town. Fit in a couple of meals and a bit of socializing and the day is done! Maybe time for an afternoon nap if it doesn't get too crazy! I've really noticed something since we've been here...I rarely feel tired anymore. In our old life, I would be yawning and fighting to stay awake by six in the evening and spend a lot of days just dragging. Not here. There really is something to be said for sleeping until your body tells you to wake up. We don't even have a clock in the bedroom. It's great. I hope that I never hear an alarm clock again!
