I hardly even know where to start. What an amazing week we had. Squid and Cheri-Lee flew down on the 13th. I figured that I need to post the pictures so that people would believe that Squid actually made it! I think that Cheri-Lee pressured him pretty hard! And we are really glad that she did! So on Friday morning Adam, Larissa and I drove to Belize City to pick them up at the airport. And then the four of them jumped on a little plane to Ambergris Caye for a couple of days. I had to come back home to take care of the house and the dogs. Anyways, it was a great chance for a Daddy-Daughter trip. Kind of a variation of many Tuchodi trips over the years!
Enjoying the sun and water.
Of course, I'm writing this all from second hand knowledge. But here's the story as I know it. After the quick flight to Ambergris the group found the hotel and settled in. Settling in consisted of drinking too much but having a great time catching up and enjoying the beautiful tropics. The next day Larissa and Adam planned a scuba dive and Squid and Cheri-Lee snorkelled. They went to Hol Chan and Shark Ray Alley. This is an amazing experience and I'm so glad that Squid and Cheri-Lee had the chance to do it.
After a couple of nights in Ambergris the group took the water taxi back to Belize City. It's a nice two hour boat ride. Then they grabbed a taxi and headed in land. I met them about half way at the restaurant called Cheer's. Along the way they met a girl, Katrina, from Revelstoke (small world). She is travelling all through Central and South America on her own. What a sense of adventure! We all stopped for lunch and then headed to the Belize Zoo. It is just down the road and well worth a visit. I know that I've written about it several times but it's such a great place! And then it was time to head home. We gave Katrina a ride to San Ignacio. She and Cheri-Lee road in the back of the truck. Made us feel like real Belizeans!
