Today we visited 'Larissa Falls'. OK...it's technically called 'Clarissa Falls' but a few well planned pictures can change that! This is a nice little resort on the river about twenty minutes from here. Great place to have lunch and enjoy the river and jungle.
After that we visited the Iguana Rehab Project in San Ignacio. It's a program run by one of the local hotels. Green iguanas have a tough time surviving in the wild these days. Too much hunting...too little habitat. A story we all know. They raise the young iguanas to about a year old and then release them into the wild. They have a much better chance of making it. What a great experience. We held and fed the mature iguanas and then we got to visit the babies! Our tour guide just kept putting them on us. It was so funny. I think I had five at one point!
And...the following may not be suitable for all readers...discretion is advised! There...you've been told! We also ate termites! Always said that I wanted to try and now I have! And so has Larissa. We are so brave! OK...that one is off the bucket list! (but I seriously doubt it was ever on Larissa's bucket list...she is such a trooper!).
