Well hello, November! So nice to see you.
Not too many years ago I certainly wouldn't have been saying that. Not that I hated winter (I actually called it my favourite season for a long time) but Canadian November was getting pretty old. Or maybe I was getting too old for Canadian winter! Come to think of it, that is probably more true! But living in Belize has rekindled my friendship with November. It's really is a pretty great month.
It's true that we are in rainy season but so far this year (fingers crossed) the rains are mostly at night and they are fairly mild. We are getting lots of blue skies and sun but the temperature is way down. So much nicer than the extreme humidity and heat of August and September. I actually felt a little bit of a chill for a moment this afternoon when the wind picked up. Time to switch to the winter wardrobe...T-shirts instead of tank tops! Ahhhhh....winter is here!
November means that we get to put a blanket on the bed, afternoon naps are so much more refreshing, no need to even consider the A/C. And the rains have brought my yard to life. Everything is so lush and fresh and the flowers are popping up all over the place. The lawn is growing like crazy. Adam is cutting about every two weeks and since we have over ten acres, that's a bit of a job. But it looks great!

Along with the cooler weather we have been getting out exploring again. There aren't too many roads in the area that we haven't been down so I guess we are re-exploring. We are really trying to get the dogs out, too. Now that we have the house up for sale we are starting to think about the future. Not really sure what that means but it will include the puppies. Milo is pretty worldly and handles new situations very well. Zoey has a great attitude but not much real world experience so we are working to broaden her horizons. She is doing so well and she loves our outings!
These pics are from our recent walk on the road to Black Rock Lodge. This is a very beautiful area through the real jungle and along the Macal river. Probably one of my favourite roads in the Cayo area and it's only about 20 minutes drive from our place. Gorgeous!
