Well, Sheri and Victor started their journey home the day before yesterday. We wrapped up a wonderful visit by driving them to the Mexico border on Monday afternoon. Thanks so much for making the trip Sheri and Victor...love you guys!!
So I will try to cover the last few days of our time with them. The weather didn't improve much. Still raining on and off...not terrible but not great. I guess that October is our most rainy month! We tried yet again to get into the Xuinantunich ruins but the river was still too high so we had to give up. Instead we visited Cahal Pech. This Mayan site is located right in San Igancio, at the top of the highest hill in town. It was really fun. Cahal Pech doesn't have all the tall temples but there are lower ones and lots of tunnels and rooms that you can explore and it's really beautiful with trees and jungle. Turned out to be a good time. And we'll save Xuinantunich for the next visit!

We also tried to get in another day of cave tubing. Sheri had such a great time the first time around. But the rain conspired against us again and the river was too high so the trip was cancelled. Oh well, another one to save for the next trip.
We filled the week with lunch at Clarissa Falls, a tour the the iguana rehab project, a trip to the Belize Zoo and still managed spend time at home and get some yard work done...thanks for helping, Sheri and Victor!
And then it was time to send them home. We drove up to the Mexico border and saw them on their way. And the very next day we picked my Mom up off the bus from Cancun. Welcome to Belize, Mom!!
