I decided last week that it was time to finish the kitchen renovation. This is a project that I've been picking away at for the better part of the year. So, rain was in the forecast for three days in a row...perfect for an inside project. The whole kitchen got a re-do....back splash, counter tops, electrical, hardware, a new cabinet, and paint. And we fixed a bunch of 'odd' things that just didn't quite make sense!
So, this is my new kitchen. I love it! Purple cabinets may not be for everyone but I love them. Thanks to Peggy for the idea! What's the point of living in the Caribbean if you can't fill your house with bright, beautiful colours? I'd love for the white appliances to die so that I could replace them with nice and shiny stainless steel but I don't really see that happening any time soon. It's a rule that if you want an appliance to die, it will keep ticking for many years beyond is normal expected life. It's like a law of nature or something.
And we are officially calling this the 'last big project'. We got a set of stairs added down to the patio. Felipe and crew built them for us so this was pretty easy on our part. Our contributions consisted of sitting in the deck chairs and provide all sorts of advice. And getting cold drinks from the fridge. And, of course, paying for them! Love the new stairs! The only problem is that they make the old stairs look terrible! It's like trying to paint half a ceiling.
On another note, Adam 'bagged' himself a Deere last week! It was a pretty old Deere named John...well past it's prime. So it wasn't much of a challenge for Adam. None the less, here is the proud hunter with his trophy hanging in the shop!
After a change of heart (hunter's remorse?), Adam patched the Deere back up and it will wander our fields for years to come!
