Let's go back a few days to Sunday. Sunday morning I wake up all happy and excited. Larissa is arriving today! Then I get up and head to the kitchen and Adam looks at me and says "You're not going to be happy." Uh oh! Larissa's plane was delayed out of Calgary so she would miss her connection in Houston. Meaning she wouldn't arrive in Belize until tomorrow. Adam was right...I wasn't happy! So, what could I do but strip the varnish off the dining room table and sand and recoat it? I mean, what would you do?
Now we jump ahead to Monday and Larissa is here. We were actually about fifteen minutes late picking her up at the airport. Got a little bit of attitude about that but I think she was still happy to be here and to see us! She ended up spending the night in Houston at the airlines expense...sort of. They put her up in a hotel and gave her a whole $20 in meal vouchers. That was to buy lunch, dinner, breakfast and lunch again! I think the airline might be a little out of touch with the cost of restaurant meals!

Now, we are in Placencia. I just dropped Adam and Larissa off at the dive shop and they are gone to South Waters for a couple of dives. I have the whole day to myself. I thought about joining them and going for a snorkel but opted to hang out here. We kicked it up a notch and are staying at a nicer resort than our usual Placencia motel. September is really off season so the rates are good and locals (that's us!) get a further discount yet. We are at Robert's Grove. It's about 4 miles from the main town but not a big deal. Larissa and I even borrowed bikes and road to town and back yesterday afternoon. Just in case, we arranged for Adam to drive and look for us after about 45 minutes but we were well on the way back and we did fine. I thought my legs would feel like jello this morning but I feel good.
The plan for today......wait.... there is no plan for today! It's a complete blank slate until I have to pick up Adam and Larissa around 3:30. Ahhhhh...this is the life!
Looking forward to seeing their pictures, too. This is the first time that they rented an underwater camera. We have one but it's only good to 40ft...OK for pool and snorkelling but not good for diving. Hopefully, they will see some really cool stuff. I have to live vicariously. Kind of sad but OK. I'm too much of a 'fraidy-cat in the water! Adam's big goal is to get me to open my eyes in the pool at home. Maybe someday but I make no promises!
