Lunch at a nearby, air conditioned restaurant.
Hot...so hot! Here we are at the end of August. In another life we would be getting ready to say goodbye to summer. Couple more weeks and I would be digging up the flower beds and starting to put the gardening tools away. Not so here. We've topped out over 40C (105F) for the last couple of days. That's hot! Lots of time in the pool. But even the pool is a temporary fix. It's great while we are in it but the cooling affect just doesn't hold once we are out.
And this is when Larissa decides to visit!! One more week and she will be here. Maybe this heat wave will break by then. It's really only supposed to be around 93F. That ten degrees makes a huge difference. We'll be pulling blankets on at night!

The heat has claimed one life in our house. Adam's Xbox died. Apparently, it can overheat just like people but unlike people, it can't just jump in the pool! It's been acting up for a while so he took it into a repair shop in town. They declared it to be a lost cause. It was almost four years old. In Xbox years that is like 90! So I guess it lived a good life and was much loved (by Adam). Once he's done grieving we'll have to look at a replacement. I can't ever remember Adam being without a video console of some kind (can we say Intellivsion, N64...?).
Zoey is growing up to be a fine looking lady.
Even though it's been really hot, I've still been getting out for my morning walk with the dogs (most days). If we get up and out really early, we can beat the heat. It's funny. We walk the same route everyday...laps around the property. And the dogs are so excited every time. It's something new and exciting for them every morning. Just like doggie Disneyland. I love dogs!
