In the couple of weeks that Adam was in Canada, I decided to redecorate our bedroom. It was best that I wait for Adam to be away because it was a pretty big inconvenience. We moved all the furniture out of the room before he left and then I slept in the guest room.
I had painted the walls a couple of months ago so at least that was out of the way. The next big project was refinishing the wood floors. We have such beautiful floors in this house but after several years they needed some love and attention. So, I scrapped, cleaned (and cleaned and cleaned), sanded, stained and varnished. I also got a little creative and stenciled on some flower art. That's what comes from many late nights on Pinterest! I love the flowers and that's a really good thing because they are not going anywhere!
A few more touches here and there and I'm feeling pretty good about the end product. There are few blank spots on the walls that are just crying for some artwork and I've been eyeing up some paintings in a gallery downtown. We'll see...maybe one day when I'm feeling kind of rich!
I have always wanted a bright and tropical looking bedroom and I absolutely love how this turned out. The blue and green and all the beautiful and rich coloured Belizean hardwood compliment each other perfectly.
While the creative juices were flowing, I tackled a few chairs and stools in the house, too. Why quit with just one room? Kind of pathetic but I love this kind of stuff!
