The bathroom is officially checked off on the renovation list! We had to order glass doors for the shower but they are now installed and that job is done! Not that I think everyone is wildly interested in our bathroom...but I did promise a certain sister-in-law (who just happens to be as addicted to home renovations as I am) that I would post some pictures. Here you go, Sheri!
We are also working in the kitchen replacing the counter tops. We decided to start with the easy job first...the island. It's about half done and I have high hopes for finishing tomorrow. After that we'll have to start ripping out the old counters and the sink. But that's not really the best plan right before company arrives! So, I'll do the island for now and that will be my motivation for later! We were looking into getting granite slab but in the end the price scared us and we opted for tile instead. It's going to look great.
And for our next project...we're building a pool! The Fort Nelsoner in me still has trouble grabbing onto that concept. We signed the contract this week and the work will begin in the next few days. Needless to say, this isn't a do-it-yourself project for us. Rebuilding showers and replacing countertops are one thing, but a pool is a little out of our league. So, for the next couple of months we will be dealing with a yard full of equipment and workers from 7am to 5pm. I have no doubt that it will be trying but worth it in the end. I'll post pics as things progress.
On Friday we will be heading to the airport to pick up Squid, Cheri-Lee and her boyfriend, Kent. When Squid visited last year we were beyond amazed. He is not a guy who likes to travel. So the fact that he is coming back again is somewhat of an honour for us! Looking forward to seeing you guys!!!
