We saw this guy while we were on the ferry to Copper Bank. I think he was waiting for Milo to fall in the water!
I think it was our second day in Belize. We didn't even have the truck here yet so we took a taxi to town and I had the driver take us somewhere that I could buy a blender! It has been my best friend and daily companion ever since. Some of you may scoff or mock but the blender is the ultimate, essential kitchen tool. Especially if you want to live a full tropical, retired lifestyle. Why else would God have created fresh pineapple, watermelon, cantaloupe, bananas, coconut and Belizean rum? Light rum, dark rum, rum cream... it just goes on and on! Everyday is an experiment in blender bliss. Yesterday was a particularly good day. I perfected the pina colada! Kind of a shame that I never measure anything but I'm sure that I can duplicate it! Yeah, these are the kinds of things that we celebrate now!
We travelled over to Copper Bank a couple of days ago for a BBQ with a bunch of people. A guy from Whitecourt, 'Canadian Joe' is building a resort there. It was a great afternoon. Joe is a riverboater so he and Adam had lots in common right off the bat. A substantial amount of alcohol was consumed. On the way home, Adam kept telling me how happy he was that we moved to Belize!
Yesterday was lunch and card games with Rick and Linda at Progresso. Had a wonderful visit. The conversation was a little quiet and water was the drink of choice. Rick and Linda were at Joe's place, as well!
Still waiting for more word on the house. Everything seems to be moving along but it would be nice to hear a little more positive news. Just looking to be reassured! If all goes well, we will be moving in in three weeks. Yah! Very exciting!
