Judi has been gone for a few days now and I am playing catch up with the blog. Thank goodness for all the pictures that we took. They are great prods for my memory and I find myself smiling as I am looking through them. That is also a big part of why I enjoy blogging so much. It's a great diary to record this amazing adventure that we are on. I often look back here to help me recall when we did a certain renovation to the house or when someone visited. I am very serious when I say that we lose track of time here. The months and years fly by so quickly but that could be an age thing too!
So, back to our visit with Judi. Adam backed off quite a bit and gave us lots girl time. I can't say that I really blame him. I don't think that men have the required gene for non-stop chatting for 10-12 hours straight! I would sometimes catch him staring blankly at the sky or giving me a really befuddled look that said "How can you possibly talk for that long???" Again, it's a gender-genetic thing. He just wasn't built for that.

One of my favourite things about life in San Ignacio is the new Cayo Welcome Centre. Just about every weekend they have some type of entertainment or festivity on the main stage. One evening Judi and I made it in for the Garifuna Settlement Days event. A bunch of local musicians took to the stage and played a wide range of music. It was so good. We managed to snag a table at a little park-side bar that gave us a great view of the stage so we enjoyed a few Belikins along with the tunes. After a bit, Adam joined us and then we hooked up with friends for dinner at Fuego. All around pretty much perfect!
I had to post this picture of Judi at our ladies' luncheon. Once a month a group of ladies meets for lunch at one of the local hotels, the Aguada. It's an open invitation and we really have no agenda...just get together, meet with friends, and welcome anyone who is new to town. It's always a good time. This month one of the women was selling raffle tickets to raise money for an orphanage. Guess who won??
