There is always magic in a rainbow. As children, we imagine a giggling (and somewhat maniacal!) leprechaun all dressed in bright green and protecting an over flowing pot of gold. I think that I'm pretty happy to let that childhood tale go. Like so many fairy tales, this one is kind of creepy. That leprechaun was never a nice guy and way too obsessed with money!
We've been seeing almost daily rainbows in the eastern sky for the last while. So according to Irish lore we'll have a whole lot of crazy and mean little men dressed in green running around Belize hoarding their gold. Sounds like the start of a new political party.
Life has been fairly quiet here lately. We are holding true to our word and no new large construction projects have started. As I like to say, we have been puttering. I've been working in my garden on pretty much a daily basis. We are getting a really nice mix of rain and sun and everything is growing like crazy. I love how the yard looks this time of year. This is a BIG part of why we moved here.

Something funny that I've noticed... I have a couple of weather sites on the internet that I like to check out. Not that our weather changes much...it's pretty much always perfect and beautiful! But the forecasts always show a very different picture. They have shown rain and thunder storms most everyday for the last two months. Now, in fairness, they do say 'isolated' in tiny print underneath the ominous picture of black clouds with lightening and huge rain drops. That is not at all representative of our actual weather. It is raining right now, very lightly. But I can see blue sky all around and it was beautiful until a few minutes ago and it will likely be beautiful in another twenty minutes. And another thing that I've learned in Belize is that rain is not a bad thing. Oh for sure, we can get some torrents that stop everything and the only thing you can do is close up the house and hide out. But bad weather here does not mean cold and I love that! And the rain just means that Adam will have to mow the lawn sooner and my flowers will be happy and healthy!
