I spoke with Larissa last night. She's home and settled back into her world in Red Deer. Sure do miss her but we had a great visit. We are so lucky to be able to spend so much good quality time with her. With a little effort, the miles don't seem so bad.
I have to say that I laughed when she told me they had snow in the forecast for later this week. Hahahahaha... ooops ...there I go again! Sorry, that just slipped out. Fall is in the air in Belize, too. The days are hanging around 90F instead of 95-100F. Brrrrr...pull out the sweaters! Sometimes we even get a chill coming out of the pool! Feel free to hate us anytime!
OK...if anyone is still reading this..this is what has been going on in our lives for the last few weeks. Still puttering on the patio kitchen. We've moved from the 'working' stage to the 'puttering' stage. All of last week, we managed to get a whole five boards up on the ceiling! Go us!
We've got the water hooked up and the sink is working and we've got electricity. Yay...the beer fridge is plugged in and doing it's very important job! Still need to get the shelves in the cabinets and seal the concrete floor and we need to figure out what to do about lighting. All in good time. Really pleased with how it looks so far. The blue and grey colours are just right and the tiles match the ones in the pool. I think it looks great! Sometime in the future we will build a pergola over the bar and onto the patio. Shade is critical and we still don't have enough!
I joined a yoga class last week. Here's a tip. Don't ever challenge a 'yogi' to a fight. They may look all tiny and speak of peace and serenity but they are seriously tough!! I felt all sorts of muscles after my first class. I even had to skip my regular workout the next day to heal. But I will not be defeated ...back again tomorrow. I've been working out steadily since last January. I decided that I no longer had any excuse for packing around the extra pounds. I have all the time in the world, it's summer all year 'round, and there is so much wonderful fresh food to eat. I'm proud to say that I've lost 23lbs (and held it off for six months!) and I feel so much stronger and healthier.
I did Weight Watchers online for four months. That, combined with getting my butt in gear and moving, and I've really seen results. I walk laps around the property with the dogs every morning... good for me and good for them. Then some time with the weights and aqua fit in the pool. And now I've added to yoga. I've got to say this fitness thing is kind of addictive.

Today's big plan is to seal the patio pavers. That's not a puttering job...it's real work. Thank goodness it's cool today ...only around 95F! And there are a few clouds in the sky. So, I put the computer away and pull out the paint roller!
