We are well into hurricane season but so far things have been pretty quiet. But for the last three days we've been watching the National Weather Service online. A tropical depression formed in the eastern Caribbean. It grew up into a tropical storm and got a name...Harvey. Harvey was pointed right at Belize and was expected to make landfall this afternoon. There was even some speculation that it might become a hurricane.
So we did all the things that we were supposed to do. We made sure that we had gas for the generator, extra water, stocked up on groceries, got some cash from the bank, put away all the loose stuff in the yard. And then we waited. And waited. And waited. We had a nice gentle rain for most of the day and that was about it. About an inch in total. Harvey passed directly over us and he really wasn't much! Kind of disappointing. We weren't looking for a major category 5 hurricane or anything but we did expect a little more. Oh well...I suspect that there will be more. And the cool, rainy day was appreciated. I got some sewing and baking done. Nice!
